Wilcox Girls

Anna and Isabelle were such a joy to photograph. Rarely do I have the opportunity to just shoot the children and it makes such a difference in terms of the type of images I can get in the session. Obviously, in a family session, there are so many more combinations so I have less time to do a variation of poses and settings. But this shoot was purely for the sisters and so we were able to do so many things, and they even had time for a change. I loved that their mother went out and specially and bought these fabulous dresses for the shoot - they were dramatic and dreamy at the same time and although I am usually not keen on clients matching, I think in this particular case, perhaps because they were siblings, I think it worked beautifully.



At only ten years old, Isabelle offers her mother glimpses to the wisdom she holds inside and a wonderful sneak preview of the woman she will one day grow into.



This is Anna who at every age, has always had a sense of naivety and innocence that makes her mother's heart glow to know that she is a part of her.















Both girls have a hint of tom boyishness, but still enough of the girlishness to love to don beautiful and fun dresses - I was grateful for this combination, for it allowed me to capture the serene images that I love, but then we also had some playtime later with spinning, jumping, twirling, leaping and splashing. Adventures and silly escapades are definitely in their repertoire of life.



There had been a wedding on the beach earlier so we gathered some scattered petals from the ceremony site and had our own fun with them.













































The Wilcox family have lived in Bermuda for over six years. Although it is the third country in which the girls have lived, it definitely feels like home and they have spent more time on the Island than anywhere else. They are avid swimmers and adore the sea and for now, are along for this wonderful Bermuda ride... for however long it is meant to last.

Bibb Family

Having spent a number of very happy years in Bermuda, the Bibb family were sadly leaving the Island and wanted to take away some photos of the fun times they have had at the beach. The afternoon offered glorious weather and it was a perfect send off for the family of five. Hopefully these images will encapsulate their wonderful memories of a place they called home while their young family grew.





Max, Erin and Isla were easy subjects, brimming over with smiles and cuddles. I loved that they were dressed to bring out the blue of their eyes and they all looked so good when photographed together as they didn't all match, nor did they clash - well done Tracey and Jason!



















I try to remember to sneak a shot of the parents on their own as it is so easy to focus entirely on the kids and forget where it all began!



























Thank you all for a fun shoot and I hope you are settled in back home now. Having recently only moved 5 minutes down the road, I know how major it is to uproot so I hope you are all settled and well.

Baby Axel

This beautiful blue eyed boy is Axel. He is who you may have seen hiding in his mama's belly a couple of months ago during his parents maternity session. Axel made his appearance into the outside world on July 25th and was 2 weeks old on our shoot.



Since I had shot part of the pregnancy session in the Botanical Gardens, we thought it would be fun to go back now that Axel was kicking about in the outside the womb. Since the Poinciana trees were no longer blooming, we picked the corner of the gardens where those mad dinosaur trees (not sure of their official genus name, but you know the ones - they have thorns on their huge buttress roots!) grow. I hung my dreamy mosquito net there for the couple to enjoy some moments in nature with their new baby. I love how the shape of the billowing gauze echoes the shape of the incredible roots.







Isn't Axel just the coolest name? Stephanie and Johan chose it because it is a Scandinavian name (Johan is Swedish) and is also in Johan's family. The new parents love the name and it works well since it is easy to pronounce and spell in both English and Swedish - key things to think about when naming a child!





















I love the patterns in his hair - he will be a lucky boy if he gets his mama's curls!















I love this last photo - there were so many truly tender intimate ones in this series of the three of them lying together. Most were a bit too personal to post, but will be wonderful memories of this special time for the family over the years.



The pair are madly in love with Axel, like all parents are, of course. They tell me what a delightful baby he is and the indescribable amounts of joy he brings to them. The young family moved back to Sweden when Axel was only 8 weeks old and Stephanie is pleased to report that their first born is very happy and content, and has been a fantastic travel companion!
