Hillary & Justin

Hilary and Justin were high school sweethearts and so when if finally came time to tie the knot, the pair decided to make it official in front of their nearest and dearest with the ocean surf crashing around them. Hillary's family have been coming to stay at The Reefs here in Bermuda since she was a child and since it was already their favourite holiday destination, the couple decided a wedding on the Island would be the perfect choice.

Pastor Smith officiated a lovely service for the couple and their friends and family at Caso's point.

This photos below is one of my faves of the day - not for its technical genius or compositional qualities (obviously), but for the story behind it. While the bride was getting ready, she had been wearing her favourite blue skirt on and out of modesty, kept it on while she slipped her dress over her head. She had meant to remove it, but in all the excitement, forgot about it until Justin noticed it after the ceremony. So it turned out the bride actually had on two blue items, as she also was carrying a blue handkerchief. Hillary feels that hher little mistake just made things all the  more special. She also wore a strand of pearls that her mother had worn for her own wedding, and so that covered her something old and borrowed, and of course the dress was new.

The unique bouquet and rest of the flowers for the event were by Flowers By Gimi.

Hillary's dress was found at David's Bridal, and then the bride-to-be put over 13 hours of silver embroidery and pearls and silver beads herself, making the dress more personal and unique. As Hillary says, you can never have too much sparkle!

Hillary and Justin - thank you for allowing me to capture your intimate wedding - it was wonderful to meet you both and to be a part of such a special time in your lives - congratulations and happy happy future making! xx
