Last days in Bermuda

This fabulous family are real beach bums and used to go to their favourite beach all the time so when they knew they were leaving the Island, they were keen to have some lasting tangible memories to share with the children as they grew older, reminding them all of their amazing life they had shared together in Bermuda. I was thrilled to capture yet another momentous event in their lives since I had first photographed Julia and Eric's wedding, and then their family all together in my bedroom one rainy afternoon a couple of years ago! They have moved to Florida and although there are beaches there, for some reason, they are not going all the time so these special times on a Bermuda beach are all the more important now. I am so happy to have been able to do such a fun and creative shoot as a keepsake of all the young and carefree times your family shared in the children's early years.

Mathieu and Elena were so sweet together. These two are very similar in age to my two so it is always fun to see another pair of siblings behave in similar ways. I just asked them to cuddle and kiss and they did - just gorgeous!

Mathieu missed his Bermuda friends but is loving that he can go to Disney so easily, as well as go to the train museum and lots of new school friends, but of course misses his friends here too.

Elena is happily going to a French preschool and has even started to whine in French which makes it almost charming instead of annoying! She longs to hop on a plane to come back to visit so looking forward to seeing her again when the time comes!

After some shots in traditional clothes, the kids were allowed to change into costumes which was my favourite part of the shoot.

Elena loves to be a little princess and her Kaiya Eve skirt helps play the part perfectly!

And I think these next three images, with her wings as well, are possibly my fave pics ever of a daddy with his daughter.

Sweet little Mathieu loves dressing up as a pirate and his sword was the perfect implement to write with in the sand.

This one below is another heavenly image - I just love the white space around Elena's face and she so sharp and Mathieu so blurred - yum!

And then I rummaged around in Julia's bag to see what else I could find. I think she meant for someone to wear this sarong, but will Elena's little curls popping out the bottom, it was divine as a gypsy scarf.

How I adore it when the beach is at just the right angle to do reflection shots.

And these two worked hard so were rewarded at the end with a very glam treat and yet another great photo opp - Julia clearly read every word of my Tips for a great Shoot sheet!

Thank you all for a wonderfully fun and personal shoot - loved it and hope these will bring you much happiness as you remember all your wonderful years living in Bermuda. Happy trails in your new life in Florida and can't wait to see you upon your return. xxx
